Lisa Lampanelli Tickets

Stand-up comedian Lisa Lampanelli was born in Trumbull, Connecticut, in 1961. She is famous for her brash brand of insult-comedy, which consists mainly of politically incorrect jokes and insults directed at her audience. Lisa studied journalism at Boston College and Syracuse University and went through a graduate program at Harvard. She first worked as a newspaper reporter but felt the calling of stand-up too strong to pass up. She got her first significant opportunity in 2002, when she performed at the New York Friars' Club roast of Chevy Chase. The same year she released her record "The Queen of Mean," an hour-long concert filmed live at Rascal's Comedy Club in West Orange, New Jersey. In 2005, Lisa released "Take It Like a Man," a one-hour special recorded live at The Improv in Hollywood. The performance was so shocking, no-holds-barred, and politically incorrect, typical of Lampanelli, that it hit number 6 on the comedy charts. The biggest success came in 2007, after the release of her one-hour special "Dirty Girl - No Protection" debuted on Comedy Central. The record reached number 4 on the American comedy charts and was nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007's "Best Comedy Album of the Year." In 2009 Lampanelli premiered her first ever one-hour HBO comedy special "Long Live the Queen." The same year she published her autobiography "Chocolates, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat, and Freaks," which was a revealing portrayal of her dysfunctional childhood and her struggles with addictions to food and hot guys. As a writer, Lisa Lampanelli also wrote a monthly women's column in "Playboy" magazine.
