Texas BigBeat was a fundraising event uniting 437 drummers from all across Texas and as far away as Mexico. Proceeds from the event benefited Cherish Our Children International (COCI), a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, www.cherishourchildren.org. Locally, COCI works with school programs such as "No More Victims" to educate underprivileged, special needs and at-risk Houston children giving them a chance to create a positive and productive future for themselves. Celebrity drummers included Liberty DeVitto (played for 30 years with Billy Joel) and Rich Redmond (currently touring with Jason Aldean).
