The
Metropolitan Opera House, often simply called "The Met", is located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City, on Broadway at Lincoln Square. It opened in 1966 as part of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, replacing the former Metropolitan Opera House at Broadway and 39th St. It is the current home of the Metropolitan Opera Company. It has a seating capacity of 3800 and also can accommodate 195 standing room places. The new building officially opened on September 16, 1966, with the world premiere of Samuel Barber's Antony and Cleopatra. It was designed by architect Wallace K. Harrison.
The Metropolitan Opera House is also home to the annual Spring season of American Ballet Theatre (ABT) when the Met Opera Company is on hiatus. It regularly hosts touring opera and ballet companies including the La Scala, Kirov, and Bolshoi companies. In addition, the Met has presented recitals by Vladimir Horowitz, Kathleen Battle and others.

"I just wanted to write and let you know that we recently went to the Carrie Underwood concert at the new Ontario, CA venue, using tickets purchased through MyCityRocks.com. I purchased the tickets for December 9th way back in July and was pretty nervous about it up until the moment we were there and let through the door. I had never even heard of your company before. However, our 7th row seats were amazing and we had an awesome time! I took both of my daughters (a 16 year old and a 26 year old) and mom was a hero! It was so much fun!
Thanks so much!"
