West Side Story is one of the greatest musicals of all time. Written in 1950s, the musical is an adaptation of the classic romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet. The creative team includes Arthur Laurents (book), Leonard Bernstein (music), Stephen Sondheim (lyrics) and Jerome Robbins (conception and choreography).
The story follows the impossible love of two young people. Their families become two warring New York City gangs - the Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Maria and Tony begin meeting in secret, planning to run away. Then the Sharks and Jets plan a rumble under the highway to get control of the streets. Maria sends Tony to stop it, hoping it can end the violence. But everything goes wrong and Tony accidentally kills his lover's brother while trying to break up the rumble. And before the lovers know what has happened, tragedy strikes and does not stop until the ending.
West Side Story opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre on September 26, 1957, and ran for 732 performances. After a US tour in 1960, the spectacle returned to the Winter Garden Theatre for another 253 performances. The musical had two Broadway revivals - in 1980 at the Minskoff Theatre and in 2009 at the Palace Theatre. The original London production premiered at the Manchester Opera House in 1958 and closed after 1039 performances.
The production had several national and international tours. The most famous international tour was directed and choreographed by Joey McKneely and produced by BB Promotion. The musical was presented in Tokyo, Paris, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, São Paulo, Taiwan, China, Italy, Rotterdam and Madrid. The last national tour started in 2010. The original Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely.
A film adaptation of the musical West Side Story was released on October 18, 1961. The film won ten Academy Awards.

Just wanted you to know that the 3 tickets for a St. Louis Blues NHL game I purchased from your site were unbelievable. I knew they would be fairly decent seats when I ordered them. But, having never been to Scottrade center I was blown away to be sitting 9 rows up off center ice for around $60/ticket. We were so close, you could hear the words the players were yelling at one another. These were normally $127/ticket seats. The tickets arrived within 2 days of the order being placed, in mint condition, exactly as described. I will definitely use this service again and recommend it to others."
