The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball team, members of the Central Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The head coach of the team is Byron Scott, supported by Paul Pressey, Jamahl Mosley, Joe Prunty, Nate Tibbetts and Stan Kellers. The 2011-2012 Roster includes the players Omri Casspi (36), Semih Erden (9), Christian Eyenga (8), Alonzo Gee (33), Daniel Gibson (1), Luke Harangody (44), Ryan Hollins (5), Kyrie Irving (2), Antawn Jamison (4), Anthony Parker (18), Samardo Samuels (24), Ramon Sessions (3), Mychel Thompson (21), Tristan Thompson (13) and Anderson Varejao (17).
The team was formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1970. They began playing in the National Basketball Association as an expansion team. Throughout the years the Cleveland Cavaliers won one Conference title (2007) and three Division titles (1976, 2009, 2010).
The home arena of the Cleveland Cavaliers is the Quicken Loans Arena. It is currently home to the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League, the Mid-American Conference Basketball Tournaments, and the Cleveland Crush of the Lingerie Football League.
The list of Basketball Hall of Famers includes Nate Thurmond (Former player 1975-1977), Walt Frazier (Former player 1977-1980), Lenny Wilkens (Former player from 1972 to 1974 and coach from 1986 to 1993), Chuck Daly (Former coach 1981-1982), Wayne Embry (Former team president and G.M. from 1986 to 1999 and the first African American to serve in that role in the NBA) and Joe Tait (Retired broadcaster 1970-1980, 1982-2011).
The Cleveland Cavaliers have retired the following numbers: 7 - Bingo Smith (1970-1979); 22 - Larry Nance (1988-1994), 25 - Mark Price (1986-1995), 34 - Austin Carr (1971-1980), 42 - Nate Thurmond (1975-1977) and 43 - Brad Daugherty (1986-1994). The retired Cavaliers radio announcer Joe Tait also has a banner, honoring his 39 seasons as the "Voice of the Cavs".
