NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship (March Madness) Tickets:

NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship (AKA NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament, March Madness or the Big Dance) is a college basketball tournament held in the US each spring (mostly in March and finishing in April) designed to determine the national champion in college basketball. It is a single-elimination contest between 68 college basketball teams that has been a tradition of NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) basketball since the National Association of Basketball Coaches formed the tournament in 1939. It is one of the most well known annual sporting events in the US and now each game can be seen televised nationwide.

The 68 teams chosen for the tournament are either automatically determined by winning a conference title (for 31 teams), except for the Ivy League Conference, while the remaining spots (for 37 teams) are chosen by the Selection Committee, a special group appointed by the NCAA. Upon completion of the selection process the committee then seeds the teams into the bracket in secrecy and will announce all of the first round matches at one time.

March Madness consists of seven rounds starting with The First Four (8 teams, 4 games) and then the Round of 64 (2nd Round, 64 teams, 32 games). Due to the elimination the next round is known as the Round of 32 (3rd Round, 32 teams, 16 games), the next round that is played is the Sweet Sixteen (Regional Simi-finals, 16 teams, 8 games), then the Elite Eight (Regional Finals, 8 teams, 4 games), the Final Four (National Semi-finals, 4 teams, 2 games) and The National Final game.

Upon completion of the tournament, bronze plated trophies are awarded to all of the Final Four teams for their regional championship. The winner of the Final Four receives a gold plated trophy and the runner up a silver plated trophy from the NCAA. The winning team has also been presented the Siemens/NABC Trophy since 2006, prior to then is was simply known as the NABC Trophy. The winning team's players are also presented with gold championship rings while the remaining 3 teams receive Final Four rings. There is but one individual player award for the tournament, Most Outstanding Player, which is also given out after the tournament has completed.

The UCLA Bruins hold the record for the most championship titles with 11 wins, followed by the Kentucky Wildcats with 7 wins, the 3rd place position is a tie between the Indiana Hoosiers and North Carolina Tar Heels with 5 wins and 5th place is the Duke Blue Devils with 4 wins.
