The Dallas Cowboys competes in the National Football League (NFL) in the National Football Conference (NFC) Eastern Division, and is headquartered in Valley Ranch in Irving,Texas. All of their home games at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas (a suburb in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex). They joined the NFL in 1960 as an expansion team. From their formation until 1971, the Cowboys' home stadium was The Cotton Bowl. In 1971, they moved to Texas Stadium, where they remained until 2009. In 2009, they moved into Cowboys Stadium.
The Cowboys share the NFL's most Super Bowl games played with the Pittsburgh Steelers with eight Super Bowls, and are the only team to maintain winning seasons for 20 years from 1965 to 1985. Many of the players, coaches and managers responsible for their outstanding record have been enshrined in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor (RoH) and include Bob Lilly, Roger Staubach, Tom Landry, Tex Schramm, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith, amoung others.
During the inaugural season, a co-ed group was formed known as the CowBelles & Beaux, made up of local high school students, which was later formed into the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC). During a 1967 game against the Atlanta Falcons a stripper was employed named Bubbles Cash which inspired Tex Schramm to form the all-female Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in 1970 that are known today.
Known as America's Team, the Coboys have proven the claim by selling out 160 regular season and post-season games in a row, as well as 81 consecutive away games.
Forbes Magazine has listed the Dallas Cowboys as the second most valuable sports franchise only behind Manchester United and the most valuable US sports team at about $1.65 billion dollars (US).

stadium is the home stadium for the Dallas Cowboys NFL Football
Team, replacing the previous Texas Stadium, built in 1971, which has since been imploded. The
stadium capacity for football is 80,000 (seats), and 110,000
(including standing room). It is the largest domed stadium in the world and boasts a retractable roof and 160-feet wide and 72-feet tall HDTV (high-definition television) screen. The stadium officially
opened on May 27, 2009, and on Feb 6, 2011, hosted The 2010 NFL Super Bowl (XLV). It was built at a cost of $1.15 billion
dollars. Although the stadium's primary purpose is that as the home of the Dallas Cowboys, it can also be used for a variety of other activities such as concerts, basketball games, boxing matches, college football and high school football contests, soccer matches, and motocross races.
