The Fresh Beat Band is a children TV show with a target audience between the ages of 9 and 16. The show includes original pop songs, produced by the children-oriented cable television channel "Nick Jr." The channel is owned by MTV Networks. The series is filmed at Paramaunt Studios in Los Angeles, California. The Fresh Beat Band was originally called The Jumparounds. The first series was released in 2009. The Fresh Beat Band revolves around four teenagers and best friends: Twist the DJ (Jon Beavers) who is also a very good beat-boxer and singer, Shout (Thomas Hobson) the keyboardist, Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer) the violinist who also plays guitar and sings, and Marina (Tara Perry) the drummer. The four go to music school where each episode opens with a song that foreshadows a problem that the band will encounter and solve through the course of the show. Each show concludes with the closing song "Great Day." Three singles were released to iTunes - "Great Day," "Here We Go," and "A Friend Like You". In 2011 The Fresh Beat Band received the a "Parents Choice 2011 Awards," actress Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer was nominated for "Best Actress in TV" category at the 26th Annual Imagen Awards.
