Broderick Steven Harvey is an American actor and comedian. He is famous for his TV and radio shows. Currently, he is the host of both the radio talk show "The Steve Harvey Morning Show," and the television game show "The Family Feud." "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" was originally syndicated under "Radio One", Inc. from September 2000 until May 2005. Then Harvey signed a joint syndication deal with "Premiere Radio Networks" and "Inner City Broadcasting Corporation." Today the show is aired on almost 50 radio stations across North America. Steve Harvey is supported by Shirley Strawberry, Carla Ferrell, and Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles. He was born in Welch, West Virginia, in 1957. In 1984 Harvey won an amateur comedy contest. His first professional engagement was at the "Hilarities Comedy Club" in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1985. Steve Harvey was one of the numerous hosts of the syndicated music television show "It's Showtime at the Apollo." In 1994 he received the starring role on the ABC sitcom "Me and the Boys." From 1996 to 2002 he hosted his own show on The WB Television Network "The Steve Harvey Show." He is also a writer. He wrote "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment," published in March 2009, and the book "Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find and Keep a Man." In 2001 Steve Harvey and the television and radio producer Rushion McDonald established the Hoodie Awards. The show honors local businesses, religious and neighborhood leaders, churches and high schools for their contributions and excellence within their own neighborhoods. The 12 categories are: Best Church, Best Beauty Salon, Best Community Leader, Best Barbershop, Best School Teacher, Best High School Coach, Best Soul Food Place, Best High School, Best Car Wash/Detail Shop, Best BBQ Restaurant, Best Nail Salon, and Best Church Choir.
