George Roger Waters is an English musician, singer, songwriter and composer. He was among the founding members of the 1965 progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Water acted as bassist and co-lead vocalist until 1968, when Syd Barrett would quit the band and Waters would became the main songwriter and conceptual leader of the group. He left the group in 1985 after several conflicts stemming from creative differences. Still this period was pivotal in his development as a musician and composer. During this time the band managed to issue 12 albums. Walters was the driving force for the success of such projects as "The Dark Side of the Moon," "Wish You Were Here," "Animals," "The Wall," and "The Final Cut." In 1996 he was inducted into the US and UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pink Floyd.

In 1984 Roger Waters released his first solo album "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking." The album featured guitarist Eric Clapton and jazz saxophonist David Sanborn, and he followed that release with his second studio album, "Radio K.A.O.S.," in 1987. In 1990, Waters staged one of the largest rock concerts in history in Germany with "The Wall - Live in Berlin." This project involved a myriad of fantastic musicians including Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Van Morrison, and Joni Mitchell. The concert raised funds for charity and over 250,000 tickets sold.

The third studio album Waters released was in 1992 called "Amused to Death." In 1999 he started touring, performing both Pink Floyd songs and songs from his own solo catalog. In 2005, he completed a three act opera and continued his constant touring. Waters is currently touring on the two year world tour "The Wall Live." The tour received the award for "Event of the Year" at the 2011 Classic Rock Roll of Honor awards in London. In London, on 12 May 2011, Gilmour and Mason from Pink Floyd once again appeared on the stage with Waters for "Outside the Wall." The tour began in 2010 and will end in 2012.
