Radiohead is an English alternative rock band from the 90's. The band started in 1985 in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with members Thom Yorke (vocals, guitars and keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (guitars and keyboards), Ed O'Brien (guitars and backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass) and Phil Selway (drums and percussion), in a school band called "On A Friday." Their inspiration came from Pink Floyd, R.E.M., and The Beatles among others. After several years, the group would land a recording contract with EMI Records, and changed their name to Radiohead, after a reggae tune from the Talking Heads. After releasing several EPs in 1992, the band released their first single "Creep" from their debut album "Pablo Honey" in 1993. It wasn't until their 1995 album "The Bends" that the band would achieve success on the British music charts. In 1997, the band would enter the American charts with "OK Computer," which earned them their first Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Album" and a nomination for "Album of the Year."
