Moody Blues Tickets

The Moody Blues is an English rock band with 47 years of musical history. The band was formed in 1964 in Erdington, Birmingham. The founders were Ray Thomas (harmonica, vocals), Mike Pinder (keyboards, vocals), Denny Laine (vocals, guitar), Graeme Edge (drums), and Clint Warwick (bass, vocals). The band's second single "Go Now," released in November of 1964, became number one on the English charts. The band's first album was recorded in 1965, "The Magnificent Moodies." After its release, in 1966 both Denny Laine and Clint Warwick left the band to be replaced by Justin Hayward and John Lodge. The new members brought a new sound to future recordings that gave The Moody Blues the signature sound that we know them for today. In 1967 they released the album "Days of Future Passed," which included a mix of rock and classical sounds. The experiment continued with their next release "In Search of the Lost Chord" that put the Mellotron, an electro-mechanical, polyphonic tape replay keyboard, in the spotlight and became a part of their sound as well. After two more studio albums "On the Threshold of a Dream" and "To Our Children's Children's Children," the band decided to record a project specially designed for live performances. In 1970 they released "A Question of Balance" and started touring. It wouldn't be until 2003 that the band would release their first Christmas record "December." In 2003, Ray Thomas retired and The Moody Blues carried on as a core trio of Hayward, Lodge, and Edge. In November, 2011, the band announced that would celebrate 45th years since the release of the album "Days of Future Passed" with a 2012 spring tour.
