Maroon 5 is a Los Angeles, California based American pop rock band. The band has sold over 10 million albums in the USA and nearly 15 million worldwide. The band includes Lead vocalist and guitarist Adam Levine, bass guitarist Mickey Madden, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, and drummer Ryan Dusick. The four band members formed a garage band called Kara's Flowers that led to the release of a single album in 1997. After a brief period they re-formed as Maroon 5 with guitarist James Valentine.
The group's debut album was called Songs About Jane, and it contained four hit singles: "Harder to Breathe", "She Will Be Loved", "This Love", and "Sunday Morning". The album's chart success included going gold, platinum, and triple platinum in many countries around the world. The band toured extensively from 2003 through 2005, during which time two live albums were released. The band won the Best New Artist Grammy Award in 2005. Dusick left the band in September 2006, due to injuries sustained by constant touring, and was replaced by Matt Flynn. Maroon 5's second studio album "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" was released in 2007, and included singles "Won't Go Home Without You", "Makes Me Wonder" and "Wake Up Call". In 2008, two more live albums and a remix album were released. Maroon 5's third studio album "Hands All Over" was released in the United States on September 21, 2010.
