Lewis Black Tickets

Lewis Niles Black is an American stand-up comedian and author. Mainly known for his political and cultural commentary, he has released several projects throughout the years, including TV appearances, live shows, books, films and even charity projects. He is famous for his angry delivery, which earned him an Emmy-nomination and a 2011 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Lewis Black was born in 1948 in Silver Spring, Maryland. After moving to New York, he became a playwright-in-residence at the West Bank Cafe's Downstairs Theatre Bar. In 1996 Lewis Black appeared on Comedy Central by anchoring a weekly segment for the "The Daily Show." In 1998 he starred in his first comedy special on the channel. Since then, Lewis has taped four specials for the Comedy Central: "Last Laugh with Lewis Black," "Lewis Black's The Root of All Evil," "Back in Black," and "Taxed Beyond Belief." His popular appearances on Comedy Central helped him to win "Best Male Stand-Up" at the American Comedy Awards in 2001. In 2004 Lewis Black had an HBO stand-up special, titled "Black on Broadway." In this hour-long special he takes on the Bush White House, homeland security, tax cuts, and weapons of mass destruction. In 2006 he released his second HBO special, "Red, White and Screwed." It was nominated for Emmy in 2007. After several episodic roles, Black co-starred with Robin Williams in Barry Levinson's 2006 film "Man of the Year." Then followed the role with Steve Pink's "Accepted" and Paul Feig's "Unaccompanied Minors." The same year he voiced the role of Jimmy in "Farce of the Penguins". Lewis Black wrote three very successful books "Nothing's Sacred," "Me of Little Faith," and "I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas."
