Joe Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist and singer. He was born in 1977 in New Hartford, New York. He made his debut in 2000 with the album "A New Day Yesterday" which hit the Top 10 charts. The release featured a supporting cast of Gregg Allman, Rick Derringer, and Leslie West. The songs from his second studio album, "So, It's Like That," were more closer to anthem arena rock than classic blues. The tracks were recorded in collaboration with drummer Kenny Kramme and bassist Eric Czar. In 2003 Joe Bonamassa released the album "Blues Deluxe." The 12 songs once again showed the musician's fondness for blues tradition. On his 2004 recording project "Had to Cry Today," Bonamassa emphasized the approach used by classic English blues-rockers. Gaining speed, Bonamassa continued to issue albums almost every year. He released his fifth full-length studio album, "You & Me," in 2006. This album also marked the debut collaboration of Bonamassa and producer Kevin Shirley. Highlights include "Asking Around For You," "Django," "High Water Everywhere," "So Many Roads," and "Tea For One." 2007's "Sloe Gin" debuted at number 1 on Billboard's blues chart and received a 2008 nod for Album Of The Year from the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards. "Sloe Gin" careens between heavy electric blues-rock and acoustic, folk-etched tracks. Bonamassa said that the album was in part inspired by Rod Stewart's legendary 1969 debut solo LP. 2009 was a big year for Bonamassa. He was awarded the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the U.K.'s prestigious Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards. In 2010 the talented musician released the album "Black Rock." It debuted at number one on the Billboard Blues Charts and number 38 on the Billboard 200. This album was recorded at, and named for, Black Rock Studios in Santorini, Greece. His released his latest album in 2011 called "Dust Bowl." It combined the gritty, blues-based tones of Bonamassa's first albums with the fluid, genre-defying sounds he mastered in later years.
