Gordon Lightfoot Tickets

Gordon Meredith Lightfoot is a Canadian folk, pop and rock singer, and songwriter. He was born in 1938 in Orillia, Ontario. His professional career started in the early 1960s. In January 1962 he recorded a live album at Toronto's Village Corner as a member of the folk duo, the "Two Tones," with partner Terry Whelan. In 1963 Lightfoot hosted eight episodes of one-hour summer replacement show in England for the BBC called "Country And Western." In 1966 he released his first studio album, "Lightfoot!" In 1970 he released his first top ten hit"If You Could Read My Mind," and in 1980 he was named Canadian male recording artist of the decade, for his work in the 1970s. In ten years Gordon Lightfoot produced over 20 hits and conquered the charts in the U.S. and Canada. Some of the his most recognizable songs are: "I'm Not Sayin'," "Me and Bobby McGee," "You Are What I Am," "Sundown," "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," "Dream Street Rose," "Early Morning Rain," and "Ribbon of Darkness." Throughout his music career Gordon Lightfoot has released 20 studio albums, 17 compilations and tribute albums. He has sold more than 7 million records worldwide. He received sixteen Juno Awards for "Top Folk Singer," "Top Male Vocalist," and "Composer of the Year." Lightfoot was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2001. He was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 1998. He tours with The Lightfoot Band who's lineup includes Rick Haynes (Bass), Barry Keane (Drums), Mike Heffernan (Keyboards), Carter Lancaster (Lead Guitar), and Lightfoot.
