George Thorogood & The Destroyers Tickets

Since 1977, George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers have released sixteen studio albums, five live albums and six compilations. The "world's original five-man duo" has sold fifteen million albums worldwide and they have two albums that were certified platinum and six that have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). George Thorogood is an American blues rock singer and guitarist. He was born in 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware. Among the masterpieces of his career are the songs "Bad To The Bone," "Move It On Over," "Who Do You Love," and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." He gave new life to the songs of legends like Elmore James and Chuck Berry. Thorogood took a short break from music in the late 1970's to become a professional baseball player. He became very popular in the 1980s, blending a timeless blues approach with modern day rock themes. Although his success peaked in the '80s, Thorogood still tours to this day. With his band, Thorogood & The Destroyers, the artist recreates hits out of jukebox classics. The former members of the Delaware Destroyers were Ron "Roadblock" Smith (rhythm guitar), Hank "Hurricane" Carter (saxophone), Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Billy Blough (bass guitar), and Steve Chrismar (rhythm guitar). The lineup changed twice, in 1980 Smith was replaced by Jim Suhler, and in 2003 Carter was replaced by Buddy Leach. Their breakthrough success came in 1982 with the album "Bad to the Bone." The band made a major breakthrough with the single "Bad to the Bone" which has been widely used in filmmaking and television productions such as the movies "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "The Parent Trap," "Major Payne," "Christine," "Talk Radio," the sitcom "Married. . . with Children," and the Super Nintendo game "Rock 'n Roll Racing," among others. In 1988, the group released the album "Born to Be Bad," with the smash hit "You Talk Too Much." The 1990s continued a line of hit-making for the extraordinary band with the release of the studio records "Haircut," "Rockin' My Life Away," and "Half a Boy/Half a Man." In 2004 the Capitol compilation "Greatest Hits: 30 Years of Rock," was released, which went gold and was number one on Billboard's blues chart for 60 weeks. Their last album was titled "2120 South Michigan Ave," which was in fact the address of Chicago's Chess Records. The album paid a full-length homage to the label that nutured his style with interpretations of ten Chess classics with a live record feel.
