Deep Purple is a legendary English heavy metal band. Formed in 1968 in Hertford, this group has had a successful career of more than 40 years. In 1968 the lineup of the band included Jon Lord (keyboards, organ, backing vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Nick Simper (bass, backing vocals), and Rod Evans (lead vocals). Simper and Evens quit the band after a year and were replaced by Ian Gillan and Roger Glover. Throughout the years some of the world's most famous musicians have been members including Glenn Hughes (1973 - 1976), David Coverdale (1973-1976), Tommy Bolin (1975-1976), and Joe Satriani (1993-1994). The current lineup of the band includes Ian Gillan (lead vocals, harmonica and congas), Roger Glover (bass), Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (keyboards and organ). Over the years Deep Purple has released eighteen studio albums, 41 live albums and 28 compilations. The band's debut album was "Shades of Deep Purple," released in 1968. Album sales were poor in the United Kingdom, but the album became a sensation in the U.S. Several months later, in 1968, the band released their second studio project "The Book of Taliesyn." The tracks on this album were a prelude to the new sound Deep Purple introduced in 1970 with "Deep Purple in Rock." The release reached number four in the UK, remaining in the charts for months and was followed by the great "In Rock World Tour" which lasted 15 months. Success for the band came fast and they remained on top of the charts for decades and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. In 1972 Deep Purple held the record for "globe's loudest band" and was recognized by "The Guinness Book of World Records." In a concert at the London Rainbow Theatre their sound reached 117 dB. The band currently tours with a 38-piece orchestra.
Albums:"I do not leave feedback often unless the service and/or product was exceptional. Just wanted you to know that the 3 tickets for a St. Louis Blues NHL game I purchased from your site were unbelievable. I knew they would be fairly decent seats when I ordered them. But, having never been to Scottrade center I was blown away to be sitting 9 rows up off center ice for around $60/ticket. We were so close, you could hear the words the players were yelling at one another. These were normally $127/ticket seats. The tickets arrived within 2 days of the order being placed, in mint condition, exactly as described. I will definitely use this service again and recommend it to others."
