Billy Currington Tickets

William Matthew "Billy" Currington was born November 19, 1973, and is an American country music artist. He signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2003, and released four studio albums which have produced nine singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including six number one hits "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "Good Directions," "People Are Crazy," "That's How Country Boys Roll," "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer," and "Let Me Down Easy." He was raised in Rincon, Georgia, and endured the turmoil of an alcoholic step-father. He moved to Nashville after high school to pursue a music career. He performed in local bars and performed odd jobs in Nashville, including being a part-time personal trainer. One of his clients led him to demo work and writing songs. After his publisher chose not to renew his contract, he signed to Mercury Records. His debut single, "Walk a Little Straighter," tells the story of a child watching his drunk father stumbling through the door and vowing not to make that same mistake when he becomes a father. He wrote the chorus at age 12. His self-titled album was released in 2003. In 2004 label mate Shania Twain asked Billy to join her on her upcoming single, "Party for Two." Currington agreed, and he memorably swung from a chandelier in the music video for the duet. He used this exposure to successful push this second album, "Doin' Somethin' Right," in 2005. The first single, "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," reached No. 1 on country radio at the end of 2005.
