

A Day To Remember is an American rock band famous for their style of amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk. The group was formed in 2003 in Ocala, Florida. The first lineup included Jeremy McKinnon (lead vocals), Neil Westfall (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Joshua Woodard (bass guitar), Tom Denney (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Bobby Scruggs (drums). The lineup has undergone two changes, in 2006 Scruggs quit and was replaced by Alex Shelnutt and in 2009 Denney was replaced by Kevin Skaff. The band's first studio album was released under the independent record label Indianola Records. "And Their Name Was Treason" was released in 2005. It is the only album that drummer Bobby Scruggs played on. The record was a diverse mix of musical styles. The most interesting tracks were "Your Way With Words Is Through Silence," "Casablanca Sucked Anyways," and "1958." A re-release of the album was done in 2008 by Victory Records and was entitled Old Record. In 2006 A Day To Remember signed a contract with Chicago-based Victory Records. The album "For Those Who Have Heart" was released in 2007 and peaked at number 17 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and number 43 on the Top Independent Albums chart. This record was also re-released in 2008, with additional tracks and a bonus DVD. The album "Homesick" was released in 2009. It reached number two on Hard Rock Albums and number one on Top Independent Albums. The album sold 22,000 copies in the first week. Their next studio project also was a successful leap for the band. "What Separates Me from You" was released in 2010, and conquered the world charts and peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200, number 66 on the UK Albums Chart, number 24 on the ARIA Chart in Australia, and number 4 on the German Newcomer Chart.
