Hot Tuna is an American blues-rock band formed by bassist Jack Casady and guitarist Jorma Kaukonen as a side project of Jefferson Airplane. They play acoustic and electric versions of original and traditional blues songs. The band
began during a hiatus in Jefferson Airplane's touring schedule in 1969 while Grace Slick was recovering from throat node surgery that had left her unable to perform. Their early repertoire was derived mainly from Airplane material that Jorma played and covers of American country and blues artists. In addition to these shows, Jack & Jorma would play as a duo with Jorma on acoustic guitar. In 1969, the week of concerts performed at New Orleans House in Berkeley was recorded and released as a live album in 1970, "Hot Tuna." The album is affectionately known by Hot Tuna fans as the "breaking glass album," because of the sound of breaking beer glasses during the recording of "Uncle Sam Blues." In 1969, Hot Tuna would perform as opening act to Jefferson Airplane with a combination of both electric and acoustic sets. In September 1970, Hot Tuna performed two acoustic shows without Jefferson Airplane at Pepperland and received good reviews, showing the band that they could survive without the other band to support it. When Jefferson Airplane wound down and stopped touring, Hot Tuna, who's live performances were always of prime importance, became an independent group consisting of Jorma, Jack, new drummer Sammy Piazza, and Papa John, and created the albums "First Pull Up, Then Pull Down," recorded live at the Chateau Liberte near Santa Cruz, California. 1974 marked a departure from their primarily bluesy, acoustic style when Hot Tuna dropped their acoustic sets and turned into a heavy rock band, releasing the albums "America's Choice," "Yellow Fever," and "Hoppkorv." Hot Tuna stopped touring at the end of 1977 but reunited in 1986. The group continues to tour and record.

Just wanted you to know that the 3 tickets for a St. Louis Blues NHL game I purchased from your site were unbelievable. I knew they would be fairly decent seats when I ordered them. But, having never been to Scottrade center I was blown away to be sitting 9 rows up off center ice for around $60/ticket. We were so close, you could hear the words the players were yelling at one another. These were normally $127/ticket seats. The tickets arrived within 2 days of the order being placed, in mint condition, exactly as described. I will definitely use this service again and recommend it to others."
