Chris Daughtry Tickets:

Daughtry is an American rock band from North Carolina, formed and fronted by American Idol season five finalist Chris Daughtry. After turning down Fuel's offer to make him their lead singer, Chris formed the band in 2006. Daughtry is often mistaken as Chris Daughtry solo project; however Chris explains they are a band, taking on his surname as their moniker because of the exposure from the TV show and the name recognition. After Idol Chris signed with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records, which holds contracts with fellow American Idol finalists Kelly Clarkson, Kellie Pickler, and others. As a singer-songwriter Chris collaborated with several other songwriters such as Live's Ed Kowalczyk, Fuel's Carl Bell, 3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold, Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas, Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, and Three Days Grace's Adam Gontier. Along with members of his label, Chris held auditions for the band and chose four members: Jeremy Brady, guitarist (no longer in the band); Josh Steely, lead guitarist; Josh Paul, bassist who also played for Suicidal Tendencies; Joey Barnes, drummer, who was the lead singer of Suicide Darlings. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006. It was produced by Howard Benson and was released by 19 Entertainment and RCA Records. Chris wrote and co-wrote all but two songs on the album. It was the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history, reaching number one for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard Top 200, selling more than four million copies, and being named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard. By 2008 it was certified 4x Platinum. The band has been nominated for 2008 Grammy Awards, 2008 Kids Choice Awards, 2010 Teen Choice Awards, 2011 People Choice Awards, and won 2007 to 2008 American Music Awards, 2007 Billboard Music Awards, 2007 World Music Awards, and a 2007 Top In Rock Award for Breakout Artist.
