The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is located at Caesars Palace hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in unincorporated Paradise, Nevada. The indoor theatre opened on March 25, 2003, and was purpose built for Celine Dion's show A New Day..., however several other superstars have performed in The Colosseum including Bette Midler, Elton John, David Copperfield, Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld among others. The theatre capacity is 4,296 seats. The design intent was for The Colosseum to have the appearance of the Colosseum in Rome, but with the intimacy of a small venue. In fact, the design places the furthest seat 120 feet from the stage. It has a highly sophisticated lighting and sound system including the largest LED screen in North America measuring 120 feet wide by 40 feet in height. The Colosseum was built at an estimated total cost of $95 million dollars.
