Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989 (Sagittarius) in Reading, Pennsylvania. She is an American country pop singer-songwriter and actress. Growing up, she developed a love for country music, and was influenced by Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, and LeeAnn Rimes. By the age of 10, Swift began performing around her hometown, at festivals, fairs and sang at karaoke contests. Taylor started writing songs at the age of 12.
In 2006, Taylor Swift released her debut single "Tim McGraw", then her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and was nominated for the Best New Artist award at 50th Grammy Awards.
In November 2008, Taylor Swift released her second album, Fearless, and the recording earned her four Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, at the 52nd Grammy Awards. As of December 2010, Taylor Swift has sold over 16 million albums worldwide. Her awards include:
