Lady Antebellum is an American country pop group formed in 2006 in Nashville, Teneessee. The band includes three talented musicians - Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott. Kelley is the brother of pop and country artist Josh Kelley and Hillary Scott is the daughter of the country singer Linda Davis. The name of the band comes from the antebellum architectural style. "Antebellum" commonly refers to pre-Civil War America and describes the large plantation homes in the South. The idea for the name came when the members of the band were photographing "antebellum" homes. In 2007 the trio released their solo debut single "Love Don't Live Here." In 2008 the song became a part of their first album "Lady Antebellum," produced by Paul Worley along with Victoria Shaw. It became the first album by a new band to debut at number one on the "Billboard Top Country Albums" charts. Within four weeks of its release, the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Several months later, the band launched their first headlining tour "Need You Now 2010." Their third album was called "Own the Night" and was recorded and released in 2011. That same year they started the first part of a big tour, titled "Own the Night Tour Leg 1." Lady Antebellum has won the Academy of Country Music Award, Country Music Association Award, Grammy Awards, CMT Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, American Music Awards, and American Country Awards.
