James Christopher Gaffigan also known as Jim Gaffigan, is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is in the top five of the most successful touring comedians in America and his released records reaching platinum sales. Gaffigan was born in 1966 in Chesterton, Indiana, and released his first records in 2001, "Luigi's Doghouse" and "Economics II." He became popular in 2004, when his stand up material was featured in Comedy Central's animated series "Shorties Watchin' Shorties," and the same year he released "The Last Supper" and "Doing My Time." His project "Beyond the Pale" was recorded in Chicago's historic "Vic Theater" and released in 2006, and became a platinum-selling hit. Gaffigan has appeared on Comedy Central the USA Network. He is also a frequent guest on "Late Show With David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Other television stand-up includes multiple visits to ABC's "The View" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and "Late, Late Show." The talented comedian has also appeared in several movie productions, including "Going the Distance," "Away We Go," and "It's Kind of a Funny Story."
