1964 The Tribute is a Beatles' tribute band. It is defined as the most authentic and endearing Beatles tribute in the world. Their performances concentrate on the "touring years" of the legendary English band. By 1964 The Beatles had become international stars, touring extensively around the world. In April 1964, The Beatles conquered North America and the band held twelve positions on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including the top five. 1964 The Tribute was formed in 1982 by four musicians from Akron, Ohio. The current lineup of the band includes Mark Benson as John Lennon, Graham Alexander as Paul McCartney, Tom Work as George Harrison, and Bobby Potter as Ringo Starr. Gary Grimes, the original Paul McCartney for the band, died after a long battle with brain cancer in 2010. "1964" attempts to look and sound like The Beatles while playing their songs. They perform live concerts, with authentic period instruments, clothing, hairstyles, and stage sets. The only difference is that The Beatles did two 30-minute sets in their shows, while 1964 the Tribute performs two 45-minute sets. The mission of the band is to preserve the legacy The Beatles left us. This unique group presents number one Beatles show in the world. The statistics show that throughout the years they have performed over 2900 live concerts. The highlights of their repertoire include the songs "Can't Buy Me Love," "The Word," "Should Have Known Better," "Love Me Do," "Yesterday," "A Hard Day's Night," "Ticket to Ride," and "Yellow Submarine." The talented musicians have also released their own albums and videos. The band's discography includes PBS Soundtrack CD, double CD "All You Need Is Live!" (2000), "Nine Hours in November" (2001), and "Starhand Visions"(2006). The group ranked 167 out of the Top 200 Box Office grossing bands in 2004.
