Hedley is a Canadian pop rock band. It was formed in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Founded by singer/song-writer Jacob Hoggard, the band initially included Kevin Giesbrecht, Kevin Heeres, Ryan Federau and Brandon McKay. In 2004 Hoggard finished third place on the second season of Canadian Idol and changed the lineup of the band to include Dave Rosin on guitar, Tommy Macdonald on bass, and Chris Crippin on drums. The band soon signed a deal with Universal Music Canada and released their self-titled debut album in 2005. In 2006 the band signed a contract with Capitol Records in the United States and started a promotional tour. In 2007, the band released "Famous Last Words" in Canada and after ten days it was certificated platinum. In 2009, the band released "Never Too Late" in the U.S. The record included 12 tracks from Hedley's two double platinum Canadian releases, "Hedley" and "Famous Last Words." With the release of their Island Records/IDJMG debut, "The Show Must Go," Hedley used their brand of melodic, celebratory rock and roll, and produced three Top 5 singles: "Perfect," "Don't Talk to Strangers," and "Cha Ching." It was released in Canada in 2009 and the U.S. in 2010. The album was promoted with a Canadian tour, supported by Fefe Dobson, Stereos, Faber Drive and Boys Like Girls and produced the live album "Go With the Show" that was recorded during the tour. The fourth original studio album of the band, "Storms", was released in 2011. Throughout the years Hedley has won numerous music awards including 2007 Much Music Video Awards for "Best Pop Video," 2008 Much Music Video Awards for "Best Video", "Best Cinematography", "Best Director" and "Much LOUD Best Rock Video," 2010 Much Music Video Awards for "Video of the Year," "Pop Video of the Year" and " Post Production of The Year," and 2011 Juno Award for "Video of the Year."
