Rodney Carrington is a multitalented artist, stand-up comedian, country singer, and writer. He was born in 1968 in Longview, Texas, and his performances typically combine stand-up comedy and original songs. Rodney broke through in 1998 with his comedy CD debut "Hangin' with Rodney." Donned with a black cowboy hat, boots, and a Texas twang, Carrington filled the album with live performances recorded at clubs in Texas, North Carolina, and Indiana, and included fan favorite songs such as "Fred." Two years later Carrington released the album "Morning Wood," which continued his brand of crude sexual humor that gave his audiences non-stop laughs from beginning to end. The single "More of a Man" reached number 71 on "Hot Country Singles & Tracks" (now "Hot Country Songs"). Carrington released the album "Nut Sack" in 2003. The album included 16 tracks with only five of them stand-up. In 2004 Rodney Carrington starred in the sitcom "Rodney," which aired for two seasons on ABC. The story followed the life of character Rodney Hamilton, played by Carrington, who left his horrible job in Oklahoma to become a stand-up comedian. The show was created and produced by Ric Swartzlander and aired from September 21, 2004, to June 6, 2006. His next album, "King of the Mountains," debuted at the top of the comedy charts. That same year Rodney released his first hard cover book entitled "Coming Clean." In 2008, Carrington co-wrote and co-starred in a major motion picture with country music star Toby Keith, entitled "Beer for My Horses." The movie debuted in theaters nationwide in 2008. In 2009 Rodney Carrington released his first serious music project, the album "Make it Christmas," which contained traditional Christmas songs along with new originals. The first single, "Camouflage and Christmas Lights," reached the music charts on Billboard and Mediabase. The same year he recorded his comedy album "El Nino Loco."
