Jason Aldean is an American country singer. He was born in 1977 in Macon, Georgia. He made his first forays as a singer in 1998, singing in different nightclubs in Atlanta. For nearly seven years he wandered between different production companies and gained experience in small clubs and local performances. In 2005 he signed a contract with the independent label Broken Bow Records. His debut album, "Jason Aldean," was released in 2005. The single "Why" reached number one on the country music charts. In 2005 the album was a total hit and peaked number one on U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and number six on U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The same year he received an Academy of Country Music award for "Top New Male Vocalist." Aldean returned to the studio in 2007 to work on his second release Relentless. The album featured the hit singles "Johnny Cash," "Laughed Until We Cried," and "Relentless." The album once again reaped an unprecedented success on the country charts and reached number one. "Wide Open" followed in 2009, including 11 tracks. The first single, "She's Country," became the fastest-rising single of his career. In 2010, Jason Aldean released his next studio project, called "My Kinda Party." The album debuted at number 2 on US Billboard 200. His duet with Kelly Clarkson, "Don't You Wanna Stay," became a country hit in 2010. In 2011, the album received a nomination for the 54th Grammy Awards for "Best Country Album.""My Kinda Party" was certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Gold by Music Canada. His self-titled debut and "Wide Open" are both certified platinum by RIAA, while 2007's "Relentless" is certified gold. In 2011 Jason Aldean received two Country Music Association Awards and six American Country Awards.
