Miranda Lambert is an American country music singer. She was born in 1983 in Longview, Texas. In 2001, with financial help from her father, Lambert released a self-titled independent album but success wouldn't came until 2003 when she became a finalist in the talent competition "Nashville Star." She finished third and signed a contract with Epic Records, owned by Sony Music Entertainment. When Miranda Lambert was 21 years old, she recorded her first major-label single, "Me and Charlie Talking." The album "Kerosene" was released in 2005 and was produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke. Lambert wrote and co-wrote ten of the 12 tracks on the production. The album immediately sprang to the top of the country charts. The record "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" was released in 2007 under the Columbia Nashville label but with the same producers. The release reached number one on the U.S. "Top Country Albums" Billboard chart and was certificated platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2009 Miranda Lambert released the album "Revolution." The production included the singles "Dead Flowers," "White Liar," "The House That Built Me," "Only Prettier," and "Heart Like Mine," all of which have charted on the U.S. Billboard Country charts. In 2011 Miranda Lambert made history as the only artist in the 47-year history of Country Albums to debut at No. 1 with each of her first four albums. "Four the Record" also reached number 3 on "Billboard 200." The new album sold 133,000 in one week. Her previous best happened when "Revolution" sold 66,000 copies. Miranda Lambert has received numerous awards. In 2005, at the 40th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Lambert won the "Cover Girl Fresh Face" of Country Music Award. In 2007, Lambert received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her single "Kerosene". She won the "Top New Female Vocalist" award at the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards. At the 2008 Academy of Country Music Awards, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" won "Album of the Year."
