Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons are an American pop and rock band, formed in the 1960s. These musical legends have a total of 48 Billboard Hot 100 singles between 1956 (first charting under the name "Four Lovers") and 1994. This unique band has sold over 175 million records worldwide. The original lineup included Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio (keyboards and tenor vocals), Tommy DeVito (lead guitar and baritone vocals), and Nick Massi (bass guitar and bass vocals). Frankie Valli was a lead singer, but also had a solo recording career, starting with "(You're Gonna) Hurt Yourself" in 1965. He released nine Top 40 hits as a solo artist. By the late 1970s Valli was the only original band member left. The music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons was one of many influences to the Jersey Shore sound of the 1960's and 1970's. The incredible life and fate of the band's former members inspired the creation of one of the most successful Broadway musicals "Jersey Boys." The original members of The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Nine years later, in 1999, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Throughout the years more than 38 talented American singers were a part of the lineup of this legendary band. Currently Frankie Valli continues to tour the United States with the group.
